Making Graphics Without A Budget

This guide is assuming you don't have a budget. If you have a budget I strongly recommend using the professional software like Illustrator, Photoshop, and 3ds Max. If you are a student you can get a student license of 3ds Max for $99. Believe me the professional software is well worth it. Well anyways since this guide focuses on those unlucky enough to not have a budget let's move on.

The first thing you are going to need is a photo editor like PhotoShop. I recommend Paint.net. Unfortunately it only runs on Windows, sorry Mac lovers. You can get it at www.getpaint.net.

Now you have your photo editor and you come to a choice. Do you want to stick with  standard raster graphics or do you want to move onto vector graphics. If you want to move onto vector graphics and can't afford Illustrator or CorelDraw I recommend Serf DrawPlus 4.0. You can get it at www.freeserifsoftware.com. I also believe they give away their older PhotoPlus software so there you go Mac users.

So you've mastered making 2d graphics and want to move making the 3d graphics that you've seen in the newest Ps3 game. Well you can start by getting Blender available from www.blender.org. A word of warning to those of you who expect to model Yoda by next week. 3d Modeling takes time and determination. Stay with it and then one day "Master the Force You Will."
